  • Three Newburg residents are behind bars after being charged in connection with methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia seized in Newburg late last week.

  • Three Newburg residents are behind bars after being charged in connection with methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia seized in Newburg late last week.
    Jeffrey L. Deberry, 57, Angela R. Cape, 47, and Justin L. Placher, 23, all of Newburg, have each been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, a Class C felony.
    On May 16, officers with the South Central Drug Task Force, Phelps County Sheriff's Department, Newburg Police Department and Rolla Police Department concluded a short-term narcotics investigation in Newburg.
    As a result of the investigation, officers obtained and served a search warrant in the 40 block of West Fourth Street in Newburg.
    Deberry, Cape and Placher were placed at the Phelps County Jail. Their bonds were set at $50,000 each.
