  • Newburg, St. James wins; rolla to meet glendale

  • The second-seeded Rolla High School baseball team was scheduled to meet host Springfield Glendale at 7 p.m. Monday night in the semifinals of the Missouri Class 5 District 10 Tournament.
    Glendale advanced by rolling over Springfield Central 15-1 in first-round action Saturday.
    In the other first-round game on Saturday Springfield Hillcrest clipped Waynesville 4-3 in 12 innings.
    Rolla comes into the game 16-10 while Glendale is 10-17.
    In the other semifinal game Monday top-seeded Lebanon (14-8) plays Hillcrest (10-17) at 4:30 p.m.
    The district title game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
    Class 1 District 9
    The fifth-seeded host Newburg High School baseball team surged into the semifinals of the Missouri Class 1 District 9 Tournament by blasting fourth-seeded Stoutland 12-0 Saturday in first-round play.
    In the other first-round game on Saturday third-seeded Macks Creek whipped sixth-seeded St. Elizabeth 11-1.
    In semifinal games on Tuesday at the Newburg High Field Newburg (6-13-1) takes on top-seeded Tuscumbia at 4 p.m. while second-seeded Crocker (10-11) meets Macks Creek (10-9) at 6 p.m.
    The district title game is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday.
    Class 4 District 9                                                                                                 The fourth-seeded St. James High School baseball team advanced to the semifinals of the Missouri Class 4 District 9 Tournament by shutting out fifth-seeded Osage 4-0 in first-round action Saturday.
    In the other first-round game Saturday third-seeded host Salem clipped sixth-seeded Owensville 2-1.
    In semifinal games Monday at Salem High School top-seed Sullivan (18-8) plays St. James (9-14) at 4 p.m. and second-seeded Eldon (11-13) meets Salem (10-11) at 6:30 p.m.
    The Class 4 District 9 championship game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
