Rolla Junior High eighth-grade track boys' team wins meet to end season.
The Rolla Junior High School eighth-grade track team concluded its season by hosting the annual Doc Roberts Invitational on Friday at the Rolla Community Track.
The Rolla boys’ team took first place in the eight-school field while the Lady Bullpups were sixth.
In the boys’ division Rolla was first while Lange Junior High was second, Jefferson City Lewis & Clark third, Camdenton fourth, Waynesville fifth, Columbia Oakland sixth, Lebanon seventh and Joel E. Barber eighth.
In the girls’ division Lewis & Clark won while Camdenton was second, Lange third, Waynesville fourth, Joel E. Barber fifth, Rolla sixth, Columbia West seventh and Lebanon eighth.
First places for Rolla came from Davis Buhr in the long jump at 18-10; Nick Janke in the shot put at 45-5, and the 4x100-meter relay team of Jonathon Reese, Caleb Turner, Buhr and Janke at :47.53.
Rolla second places came from Buhr in the 100-meter dash at :11.59; Janke in the 400-meter dash at :54.85; Tristan O’Neal in the discus at 136-0, and Bradley Shelton in the high jump at 5-0.
Bullpup third places were by Brandon Burris in the 800-meter run at 2:24; Buhr in the 200-meter dash at :24.43, and the 4x400-meter relay team of Reese, Jake Grooms, Turner and Janke at 3:55.
Rolla fourth places were by Isaac Arthur in the triple jump at 32-11; Turner in the pole vault at 9-6, and Will Boylard in the discus at 116-0.
Leading the way for the Rolla girls was a second-place finish by the 4x200-meter relay team of Allie Harman, Emma Weinbaum, Riley Maynard and Riley Grommet at 1:57.
The Lady Bullpup 4x100-meter relay squad of Harman, Weinbaum, Maynard and Grommet was fourth at :55.81.
