Bulldogs hold off Glendale Falcons.

The Rolla High School baseball team scored just enough runs and then held on.

The Bulldogs withstood a Springfield Glendale seventh-inning rally to post a 7-6 Ozark Conference victory Thursday.

Rolla improves to 12-8 overall and 4-3 in the conference.

The Bulldogs struck first with three runs in the top of the second inning, as junior Collin Nash walked and junior Dalton Turner singled.

Senior Matt Claypool plated the first run on an RBI groundout followed by an RBI double from junior Jake Stephens and an RBI single by senior Alex Remillard.

The Glendale Falcons trimmed their deficit to 3-2 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth.

However, Rolla got those two runs back in the sixth, as Nash singled, Claypool doubled and Stephens had an RBI groundout and Remillard an RBI single.

The Bulldogs made it 7-2 with two more in the top of the seventh. Senior Seth Stevens reached base on an error followed by an RBI double from Turner and an RBI single from Claypool.

Glendale made it interesting in the bottom of the seventh, plating four runs before the Bulldogs finally got out of the jam with the victory.
Stevens was the winning pitcher, allowing six hits, three walks and fanning three.

RHS outhit the Falcons 8-6.

Turner, Claypool and Remillard each had a pair of hits for the Bulldogs.
Glendale won the junior varsity game 8-7 in six innings.

Sophomore River McCann was the losing jayvee hurler for Rolla, now 3-9. Freshman Hunter House had a double and single for the Bulldog jayvee squad.

Rolla hosted Licking in a non-league game on Friday.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to host Columbia Hickman in a non-league game Monday, starting at 4:30 p.m. on the FCNB Field at the Bray Sports Complex.
