Martin meet medalist for winning Bulldogs.

Powered by the meet medalist performance of senior Mark Martin, the Rolla High School boys’ golf team captured the eight-school Waynesville Tournament, held at Piney Valley Golf Course on Tuesday.

The tournament had been scheduled for Monday but was moved back a day due to weather.

Rolla won with 318 while Lebanon was second with 322 and Dixon third with 334.

The tournament format includes two individuals and two scramble teams per school.

Martin and Cuba’s Tyler Fieser tied for first overall with 3-over-par 72.

Martin won medalist honors on a scorecard playoff. Dixon’s Jeff Norman was third at 81. Rolla’s other individual player, Ben Burris missed medaling by one stroke, shooting 82.

Lebanon’s Aaron Shoemaker and Aaron Brown won the scramble portion of the tourney with 69 while Rolla’s Jake Drewniak and Denver Spurgeon and Osage’s Skylar Slack and Zach Curran tied for second at 77. The Osage duo took second place on a scorecard playoff.

Also for Rolla, Jonah Heitman and Josh Fels scrambled for an 84.

On Wednesday Rolla dropped a dual meet to Camdenton 156-163 at Deer Chase Golf Course.

Martin was again the medalist, shooting one-under-par 35. Rolla was without Drewniak and Fels.

Ben Burris shot 39, Pete Beaugard 44 and Denver Spurgeon 45.

In the junior varsity meet Camdenton won 192-219.

Joseph Lee led Rolla with 46 while Heitman 47, Mason Green 60 and Jeremy Dalton 69.
