Tigers place third in event at Birch Creek.

The St. James High School boys’ golf team placed third in a triangular meet Wednesday at Birch Creek Golf Course.

Sullivan won the event with 163 while Pacific was second at 181 and St. James third with 202.

Pacific was the host school.

Under mild, sunny playing conditions, Pacific’s Cullen VanLeer was meet medalist with one-over-par 37 while Sullivan’s Justin Biermann was runner-up with 39.

For the St. James Tigers Colin Hayes shot 41 and Conner Bauman 46 to lead the way.

Sullivan was the only school to have a full junior varsity team. John Walters shot 67 for the St. James jayvee squad.

St. James is scheduled to play again Monday in the Jefferson City Helias Tournament, starting at 9 a.m.
