Short-handed Bulldogs pull out dual-meet victory.
Playing without two of its varsity regulars, the Rolla High School boys’ tennis team pulled out a 5-4 dual-meet victory over Willow Springs on Wednesday.
The Bulldogs are now 2-2 in dual meet competition.
RHS winners included Nathan Graham, Aidan Gelles, Parker Nesbitt and Ben Hushaw in singles action and the doubles team of Gelles-Patrick Beasley.
“Willow has a nice team this year and saw a great opportunity when we were short two of our normal varsity players,” said RHS coach Cody Kennedy. “Ben Hushaw came up big in his singles win and Aidan Gelles fought through a tough singles match and a tough doubles match with his partner, Patrick Beasley.
“Ultimately it was a good team win with several players having to step up and play higher ranking players. They came through in a tough situation.”
