  • St. James golfers place eighth as team.

  • The St. James High School boys’ golf team placed eighth in the Union Tournament, held Tuesday at Birch Creek Golf Course.
    Sullivan won the team title by 19 strokes, shooting 335. St. Francis Borgia was second with 354 and Jefferson City Helias third with 355. St. James shot 416.
    Borgia’s Clayton Voss, Hermann’s Collin Hart and Pacific’s Cullen VanLeer tied for the individual low score with 8-over-par 80.
    Colin Hayes led St. James with 88, just missing on meet medalist honors in a playoff.
    St. James was scheduled to host St. Clair at the St. James Golf Course in a Four Rivers Conference meet Wednesday, starting at 4 p.m., and on Thursday is to compete in the Salem Tournament, starting at 9 a.m.
