  • Public House Brewing Co. announced earlier this month that it will break ground on a new location in St. James in April.
The new facility will be built near St. James Winery on State Route B.
“We're very excited to become a bigger part of the St. James community as well," said Josh Stacy, who co-owns the brewery with Josh Goodridge.
The reason for expansion is to keep up with a growing demand, they said.
The current Rolla location on Rolla Street between Sixth and Seventh streets will remain intact.
The new St. James facility will include a larger capacity brewhouse as well as a tap room, according to a press release from the company.
The current location in Rolla opened in 2010 as a partnership between two local families. Prior to opening, Stacy and Goodridge were longtime friends and had been home brewing together for several years.
“Rolla needed fresh craft beer and we decided we were the guys for the job,” said Goodridge.
Stacy and Goodridge said they plan to bottle and keg four of their most popular beers for distribution to local retailers, pubs and restaurants later this year.
Public House Brewing Company, LLC, produces craft beer with two primary focuses: "session" beers (beers with an alcohol by volume of 5.5 percent or less) and specialty beers.
