  • Two special needs students reported missing earlier this week were found safe Wednesday night along Route 137 in Texas County.
The two teenagers — Nicole A. Allen, 14, and Cody Graves, 17 — were “both located alive and not injured,” according to the Texas County Sheriff's Office.
A spokesperson for the sheriff’s department stated that a passerby saw the two students in a ditch along Route 137 south of Licking. The passerby notified the sheriff’s office that the two students were found around 8:43 p.m. Wednesday.
The spokesperson said the two had been staying an abandoned home since Monday, when they were last seen around 3:30 p.m. on Missouri Route 137 near Reed Road walking away from Licking High School.
The children were returned to their parents.
No other information was available at press time.
The sheriff’s department had issued an endangered person advisory Tuesday around 5 p.m. for the two students. That advisory was cancelled Wednesday evening.
