  • Flip-Flop Gymnastics begin season

  • Flip-Flop Gymnastics' four teams - Level 3, 4, 5 and 8 and one Level 7 gymnast - had much success in their first competition of the season at the SLGC Meet Me In St. Louis Open Invitational on Jan. 11-12 in St. Louis.
    The event hosted more than 50 gym clubs, bringing in hundreds of gymnasts from Missouri, Illinois, Florida, Tennessee, Nebraska, Iowa, kansas, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Arkansas.
    And last weekend Flip-Flop gymnasts competed in Rogers, Ark. at the Aspire Invitational, held at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center. There were more than 400 competitors from Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri.
    Flip-Flop Gymnastics swept the competition at the Aspire Invitational, all four teams Level 3, Level 4, Level 5, and Level 8 won 1st place team trophies. The Level 7 gymnast also won 1st place in the all-around for her division.
    Flip-Flop Level 3 gymnasts; Riley Brown, Emma Cook, Emily DeNoon, Brooke Easterling, Kaylie Gustafson, and Rebekka Ross earned a combined team score of 111.2 and won the Level 3, 1st place team trophy at the St. Louis Invitational. They had a combined team score of 112.175 and also won the Level 3, 1st place team trophy at the Aspire Invitational.
    Flip-Flop Level 4 gymnasts; Charley Leonard, Addison Maynard, Riley Slowensky, and Kendall Woolman earned a combined team score of 108.6 and won the Level 4 3rd place team trophy at the St. Louis Invitational. They had a combined team score of 111.2 and won the Level 4, 1st place team trophy at the Aspire Invitational.
    Flip-Flop Level 5 gymnasts; Annie Lonning, Lorynn Pearson, Ukara Saxton, and Lacey Squires scored 109.0 putting them in 5th place for their level at the St. Louis Invitational. They had a combined team score of 109.175 and won the Level 5, 1st place team trophy at the Aspire Invitational.
    Kaytlynn Mickelson the Level 7 gymnast earned 1st place in the all-around at both the St. Louis Invitational and the Aspire Invitational.
    Flip-Flop Level 8 gymnasts; Lizzie DeNoon, Lillie Scheffer, and Erin Wilson brought home the Level 8 1st place team trophy with a combined score of 109.5 at the St. Louis Invitational. They had a combined team score of 110.2 and also won the Level 8, 1st place team trophy at the Aspire Invitational.
    Multiple individual place awards were also earned during both competitions.
