  • Rolla High School football career rushing leader Cameron Fore, who recently finished an All-America career at Benedictine College, is one of the select few players to have been invited to attend the National Football League Scouting Combine next month, according to his grandfather, Jack Fore.
Cameron Fore is currently in training for the Combine as part of an eight-week program in Albuquerque, N.M.
The NFL Scouting Combine, held Feb. 22-25 in Indianapolis, Ind., is annually held to help teams better scout players for the upcoming NFL draft. The event will be aired by the NFL Network.
More than 300 top prospects have been invited to participate in the event.
Fore will compete at the Combine with running backs on Sunday, Feb. 23.
Fore was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player and was selected to the NAIA All-America first team after the 2013 campaign.
As a collegiate senior Fore rushed for 1,436 yards and scored 25 touchdowns and earned NAIA Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in his career after rushing for 236 yards and six touchdowns in a 62-37 win over Avila. His 36 points in that game set a new single-game NAIA high.
Fore was an all-state running back for Rolla High and set the Bulldog career rushing record with 3,215 yards from 206-08.
He originally signed to play at Lindenwood University, and was a freshman when the Lions advanced to the NAIA championship game in 2009. After one season Fore transferred to Benedictine and led the team in rushing as an all-conference player the last two seasons.
Fore will be attempting to be one of the very few Rolla natives to compete in the NFL.
The only Rolla native to compete in the NFL to my knowledge is former Northeast Missouri State (now Truman State) All-America receiver Russell Evans (RHS all-stater, 1982), who played briefly for the Seattle Seahawks in 1987.

    Academic All-State
Seven members of the 2013 Rolla High School volleyball team have been named to the Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches Association's Class 4 Academic All-State Team.
Lady Bulldog academic all-staters are Aarika Froehlich, Kelsi James, Jessi Kaczmarek, Sofie Luna, Aideen McEnaney, Gabe Otte and Vasilisa Shamina.

    Youth Wrestling Tourney
The 29th annual Rolla Wrestling Club Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Rolla High School gym.
More than 200 youth wrestlers from as many as 15 clubs and organizations will be competing in the event.
The wrestling is scheduled to begin at 9:15 a.m. on Jan. 25 and run through the mid-afternoon.
Cost to attend is $3 for adults, $1 for students and kids age 5-under are free.
