Upon arrival at this location officers found a dead man with multiple stab wounds. He was in an upstairs bedroom of the residence.
The victim was identified as Kyle G. Holzhausen, 24, of Rolla.
During the course of the follow-up investigation in this matter, Trevor P. Turnbull, 22, of Rolla, was identified as the suspect in this case.
At approximately 8:45 p.m. on Jan. 9, Trevor P. Turnbull was located and taken into custody at a residence in the 1300 block of Woodlawn Drive in Rolla.
As a result of this investigation, Trevor P. Turnbull was arrested on the charge of murder in the first degree and he was incarcerated in the Phelps County Jail pending the issuance of warrants.
An autopsy is pending in this case. This incident is still under investigation by the Rolla Police Department’s division of criminal investigation and the Phelps County coroner’s office.
If you have any information pertaining to this investigation, contact Detective Hank Harper at 573-308-1213.

The charge for which Trevor P. Turnbull was arrested is a mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charge must be presented to a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our newest addition to the patrol division, Patrol Officer Tom Grisham.
Page 2 of 2 - Although new to the patrol division, Tom was already a member of our Rolla police family in that he has served the past three years in our communications division as a telecommunicator.
While working as a telecommunicator, Tom attended the Missouri Sheriff’s Association Training Academy where he received his training to become a certified Missouri police officer.
Tom will undergo 12 weeks of field training under veteran shift supervisor Sgt. Ken Moberly, where he will learn the Rolla Police Department’s ways of conducting business.
Tom is married to our Senior Records Clerk Kandi Grisham. Congratulations, Tom!
    Have a great week!
