Defending champion Lady Tigers begin play Monday.
The defending champion St. James High School girls' basketball team has been seeded No. 1 for next week's 28th annual Fatima Blue & Gold Tournament.
The six-team tournament will use a unique format, with four schools in the field using bracket play and the other three schools pool play.
St. James is seeded No. 1, Owensville No. 2, Fatima No. 3, Blair Oaks No. 4, St. Elizabeth No. 5, Chamois No. 6 and Eugene No. 7.
In first-round bracket play on Monday, Jan. 13 St. James plays Eugene at 6:30 p.m. and Blair Oaks meets St. Elizabeth at 8 p.m.
On Wednesday, Jan. 15 the St. James-Eugene loser plays the Blair Oaks-St. Elizabeth loser at 5 p.m. in consolation play while the St. James-Eugene winner plays the Blair Oaks-St. Elizabeth winner at 6:30 p.m.
In pool play Owensville meets Chamois at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11; Fatima plays Chamois at 5 p.m. on Monday, jan. 13 and Owensville takes on Fatima at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
On Friday, Jan. 17 the Wednesday consolation winner meets the third-place finisher from pool play at 5 p.m. in the consolation finals; the loser of Wednesday's semifinal game faces the pool play second-place finisher at 6:30 p.m. in the third-place game, and Wednesday's semifinal winner will take on the pool play first-place finisher at 8 p.m. in the championship game.
