  • What has become one of the most popular winter events at the lake will be held once again.
Eagle Days will return for its 14th year on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 4 and 5, and has expanded from previous years.
Highlights of the program include live eagles from the World Bird Sanctuary in Valley Park. Naturalists will be on hand at Osage National Golf Resort to answer questions. The programs will begin on the hour  beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.
The Astronomy Club will be available at Willmore Lodge for eagle viewing.
Eagle watch cruises (weather permitting) will be offered by the Paddlewheeler Tom Sawyer on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. for only $5 per person.
Visitors are urged to bring binoculars and cameras for optimal viewing and photo opportunities of wild eagles at Willmore Lodge and below Bagnell Dam on the Osage River.
New activities are being added at the Country Club Hotel and at the Osage River Access. At Country Club Hotel, two programs will be given by Dickerson Park Zoo. The first is the Owl Program. The second program is the Day Shift (Hawk), Night Shift (Owl) and Garbage Gal (Turkey Vulture). The shows will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, rotating every hour. Country Club Hotel & Spa will also have activities for kids, coloring contests, and vendors.
This event is free (except for small charge for the boat cruise) and open to the public.
The first live eagle program held in 1999 attracted 651 participants. Last year, more than 3,700 people attended to make it one of the most successful Eagle Days in years past.
Eagle Days is a collective partnership with the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, Lake of the Ozarks Convention and Visitor Bureau, Osage National Golf Resort, LakeOfTheOzarksRadio.com, Country Club Hotel & Spa and Missouri Master Naturalist – Lake of the Ozarks Chapter.
