Kyong Rainbolt, president of the Pulaski County Korean Association, was a the guest of honor at the December meeting of the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 281 of Rolla.
She presented Commander Jack Smart with a $1,000 check to be used for the Veterans Memorial Park in Rolla.
She also presented each Korean War veteran with a medallion from the South Korean government to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Korean War. The inscription on the medallions read: "Honor and Appreciation; We Remember You."
Other guests at the meeting included Frank Williams, state commander of the Missouri Korean War Veterans Association (KWVA), and Jim Fountain, a national KWVA director.
Williams gave each veteran a book titled "Korea Reborn," which was published by the South Korean government and given to each Korean War veteran for free.
