An accident involving a St. James R-I School District bus and a sports utility vehicle on Old Highway 66 Monday injured the driver of the SUV.
According to a Rolla Police Department incident report, the accident occurred in the 12000 block of Old Highway 66.
There were about four children on the bus and none of them were injured, said Linda Pruett, assistant superintendent with St. James Schools. The bus driver was not injured either, she said.
The report states that a a 1999 Blue Bird school bus owned by Copeland Bus Service, LLC, and operated by Douglas Pearson, 47, of St. James, slowed to a stop and a 1991 Isuzu Trooper owned and operated by Jessica Guise, 24, of Rolla, was traveling behind the school bus.
The Isuzu struck the rear end of the school bus.
Both vehicles sustained major damage.
Guise received an injury to her arm.
Pruett said as a precaution, an ambulance was called to the scene of the crash. Pruett said the families of the children also came to pick up the students.
