The Missouri Alliance for Arts Education has been working through the Artsonia organization to place art in an exhibit in the walkway of the Senate parking garage and the basement of the Capitol, as well as on the Artsonia website. Students from all Senatorial districts may submit artwork for inclusion in the exhibit. Teachers may sign on to the website to submit scans or digitized versions of their students’ artwork to the senator from their district. The senator may then select one or more pieces to be included in the showcase.
The deadline for submitting artwork is Dec. 20, 2013. Teachers and students from the district are encouraged to submit student pieces to be considered in this show. The artwork will be displayed throughout the 2014 legislative session. To view examples of current submissions in other senatorial districts, visit the Artsonia website at www.artsonia.com:80/naea/state.asp?state=MO.
This is a great way for young artists to showcase their artwork and share and experience the creativity of other students with those who frequent this Capitol space.
