  • A $100 reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest of a man who authorities believe was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Maries County last month.
Members of the Maries County Sheriff’s Office are still looking for Dennis Dale Lawson, of Dixon, who currently has several felony warrants and several misdemeanor warrants out for his arrest including a charge of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.
According to the sheriff’s office, Lawson, who was driving, has been accused of hitting a vehicle being driven by a 17-year-old on Maries County Road 613 the night of Oct. 13. Lawson then fled the scene on foot.
The 17-year-old driver was not injured. Both vehicles were totaled.
Maries County Sheriff Chris Heitman said Lawson does not have a valid driver’s license and did not have insurance on the vehicle.
“Lawson is persistent offender who I feel needs to be taken off the streets, especially considering he is a seven-time convicted felon on probation and parole, and out on bond for more felony charges. It is obvious he is not going to stop committing crimes,” Heitman said.
Lawson also has warrants against him for felony drug violations, felony probation violation, felony driving while revoked.
For any information regarding Lawson’s whereabouts, contact the Maries County Sheriff’s Office at 573-422-3381.
