Saturday, Nov. 9
The Missouri S&T Libyan Students Association will host Libya Night Saturday, Nov. 9, from 6:30-9 p.m. at St. Pat's Ballroom in the Havener Center on campus. There will be a fashion show, Libyan food, music and games. Tickets will be available at the Havener Center and library Nov. 4 from noon to 1 p.m. The cost is $7 for Libyan Students Association members and $9 for non members or $10 at the door. The 29th annual holiday bazaar sponsored by the Rolla Junior Club will be Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rolla Middle School, 1111 Soest Road, Rolla. Gone to Pieces Quilt Guild of St. Robert will present the 2013 craft fair Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the St. Robert Community Center, 114 JH Williamson Jr. Drive. The Women of Christ Episcopal Church will hold its annual holiday bazaar at the church, located at 10th and Main streets in Rolla, Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Featured will be the "cookie walk,” ready-to-bake apple pies, goodies  and crafts. A light lunch for $7 will be served between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Reservations are not required. There is free parking at the church. The second annual Military Aerospace Society’s Veterans 5K will take place Saturday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park on Southview Drive in Rolla. There will be a 1K, 3K and 5K routes, live bands, including Fivefold and Madora, and a barbecue. Part of the society’s mission is to raise funds for the veterans park. Donations are appreciated. The documentary “Nurses: If Florence Could See Us Now" will be shown Saturday, Nov. 9, from 3-5 p.m. at the community room at Presbyterian Manor, 1200 Homelife Plaza, Rolla. The event is free. A fundraiser for a stage at Little Piney Community Park in Newburg will take place at the park Saturday, Nov. 9, beginning at 4 p.m. The event will feature live music, refreshments and hayrides. Rolla's Got Talent is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Leach Theatre, at 400 W. 10th St., Rolla. All proceeds help Newburg Elementary School’s Buddy Pack weekend children’s feeding program. Tickets are $10 at the Leach Theatre box office. Entertainers will compete for an expense-paid trip to an official America’s Got Talent audition in Denver. Celebrity judge and guest performer Neal E. Monday, Nov. 11
The Rolla Parks and Recreation Department will offer a new pom dance class for girls ages 6-12. Registration is at The Centre where classes will be held Mondays from Nov. 11 to Dec. 16 from 5:30-6:15 p.m. in the activity room. There is a $25 registration fee. The deadline to register is Nov. 6. The Miner Retirees will meet for their monthly luncheon meeting Monday, Nov. 11, at the Rolla Elks Lodge.  A handicapped entrance is located on the south side of the building.  The speaker for this meeting will be Kelley Stuck, of UM Benefits. The Rolla License Office will be closed Monday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day. The office will reopen Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 8 a.m.

There will be no changes in trash service and recycling  service in the City of Rolla Monday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day. Trash cans and recycling tubs should be placed curbside by 6 a.m. on the normal collection day. For any questions, call 573-364-6693.

The Republican Women of Phelps County will hold their Veterans Day meeting  Nov. 11 beginning at noon at Penelope's Restaurant, 1049 Kingshighway, Rolla.
