Miner junior honored for last weekend's double-dual performance.
For the second time this season, a member of Missouri S&T's swimming team has landed the Great Lakes Valley Conference's "Swimmer of the Week" honor, as junior Ethan Goldfarb earned the award after his performance on Saturday.
Goldfarb finished among the top three in three events Saturday in a double dual meet with Lindenwood and Saint Louis University, including a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke in which he won the race by more than three seconds. He posted a time of 2:04.97 to win the 200-breaststroke and also had times of 1:55.84 in the 200-yard individual medley and 4:41.89 in in the 500-yard freestyle to finish third in those two events.
Earlier this season, S&T's Aljaz Kerc was named as the league's top swimmer following the Miners' season-opening meet at the University of Missouri.
Missouri S&T will hold its first home meet of the season Friday, taking on Delta State in a meet that will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the S&T Pool.
