The Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District’s 23rd annual benefit bluegrass show and auction will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Doolittle fire station off Eisenhower Street. Admission is $6. The bluegrass show will feature Ozark Alliance, Clifty Creek, Harold Rowden and Friends and FireHouse Gang. Music will begin at 4 p.m. There also will be food that will cost extra. The event also will include a raffle drawing for quilt. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $1 each or six tickets for $5.
The Rolla Multisport Club will host the second annual Bonehead 5K race/walk and 10K race Saturday, Nov. 2, in downtown Rolla. The walk/race starts at Seventh and Pine streets. The race begins at 8 a.m. Participants are encouraged to keep the Halloween spirit alive and run or walk in the costume. To register and or learn more information, visit www.split-secondtiming.com.
The men of Christ Episcopal Church will hold its 33rd annual prime rib dinner, a fundraising event, Saturday, Nov. 2, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the church, located at 10th and Main streets.Chef Mike Scheffer, area restaurateur, will prepare the dinner. "Lights! Camera! Murder!" will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, at 6 p.m. at Oak Meadow Country Club, 10700 Country Road 3110, Rolla. The cost is $35. There will be a cash bar. The event includes dinner. Ozark Actors Theatre’s Performing Arts Series presents Bliss Hippy in a CD release concert Saturday Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m. This is a benefit for OAT. Public House Brewery will be serving. Bliss Hippy will perform music from its latest CD, “Bliss With an Attitude” at the Cedar Street Playhouse, 701 N. The second annual Turkey Shoot and Chili Supper will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, from noon to 6 p.m. at the Lenox Community Center, located one-half mile from the Lenox junction on Highway C. All proceeds to toward the Lenox Community Center Building Fund. Music will be provided by the Bush Whackers. The Turkey Shoot is factory chokes only. Prizes will be presented to the winners. Rolla Optimist Club's Flapjack Day will take place Saturday, Nov. 2, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Patrick's Parish Hall with all the pancakes, sausage, and drinks people care to eat or drink. The cost is $5 per person or $6 at the door. Children under age 6 can eat for free. Entertainment includes Rosa String Works Bluegrass Band, Ozark Spirit Cloggers, World's Finest Rolla German Band. Diwali will be celebrated at Missouri University of Science and Technology with a cultural show and an authentic Indian dinner Sunday, Nov. 3. Tickets for Diwali Night 2013 will be sold from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays at the Havener Center and in front of the Curtis Laws Wilson Library. Tickets are also available from the Leach Theatre box office. Dinner tickets are $10 and show tickets are $4. The festival will begin with a cultural show featuring traditional Indian dances at 4 p.m. in Leach Theatre. The dinner will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the St. Pat's Ballroom of the Havener Center.
Lambda Chi Alpha’s 53rd annual chicken benefit dinner will be held Sunday, Nov. 3, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 1705 N. Pine St., Rolla. Adult tickets are $5 and children tickets are $4.
