Wolves win Frisco League Tourney to finish a perfect 15-0.

The Newburg Junior High School boys' basketball team completed an undefeated season on Saturday night by knocking off Stoutland 37-33 in the championship game of the Frisco League Tournament.

The junior high Wolves finish with a perfect 15-0 record.

On Saturday Stoutland led 6-2 after the first period before Newburg outscored the Tigers 14-9 in the second quarter to take a 16-15 halftime edge.

The Wolves led 25-21 entering the fourth period.

Dylan Affolter led a balanced Newburg attack with 12 points while Ryan Terry added 11. Jake Pendergrass poured in 21 points to pace Stoutland.

"I am so proud of this group; they are a very talented bunch that has worked hard to be where they are at," said Newburg coach Doug Ward. "They had to battle through five or six tough games this season and always came out on top. It was not a cakewalk by any means."
