  • RHS to host Class 4 District 10 Volleyball Tourney

  • The Rolla High School volleyball team will be hosting a talented and deep field in the Missouri Class 4 District 10 Tournament Monday and Tuesday at the RHS gym.
    Jefferson City (18-12-2) is the top-seeded team while Willard (20-11-2) is No. 2, Waynesville (23-6) No. 3, Rolla (23-11) No. 4, Lebanon (6-19-4) No. 5, Camdenton (5-17-1) No. 6 and West Plains (4-19-3) No. 7.
    In first-round matches on Monday Willard faces West Plains at 5 p.m., Waynesville takes on Camdenton at 6:15 p.m., and Rolla hosts Lebanon at 7:30 p.m.
    In the semifinal round on Tuesday, Jefferson City faces the Rolla-Lebanon winner at 5 p.m. while the Willard-West Plains winner meets the Waynesville-Camdenton winner at 6:15 p.m.
    The championship match is slated for 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
    The District 10 champion will meet the District 11 champion at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 in Class 4 Sectional action at a location to be determined. Schools in District 11 include Ozark, Springfield Glendale, Springfield Kickapoo, Springfield Central, Springfield Parkview, Branson and Springfield Hillcrest.
    That sectional survivor moves on to quarterfinal action on Nov. 2 against either the District 9 champion or District 12 champion.

    Class 3 District 8
    The St. James High School volleyball team has been seeded No. 6 for the Missouri Class 3 District 8 Tournament, to be held Monday and Tuesday at Union.
    St. Francis Borgia (26-3-1) is the top-seeded team while Owensville (17-14) is seeded No. 2, Union (13-12-1) No. 3, Sullivan (11-11-6) No. 4, St. Clair (9-17-2) No. 5, St. James (1-20-4) No. 6 and Salem (2-27) No. 7.
    In first-round matches on Monday Sullivan plays St. Clair at 5 p.m., Owensville faces Salem at 6:15 p.m. and St. James takes on Union at 7:30 p.m.
    In semifinal action on Tuesday Borgia plays the Sullivan-St. Clair winner at 5 p.m. while the Owensville-Salem winner plays the St. James-Union winner at 6:15 p.m.
    The district championship match is set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
    The District 8 champion will play the District 5 champion at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 at a location to be determined. Schools in District 5 include Villa Duchesne, Visitation Academy, MICDS, Westminster Christian, Clayton, John Burroughs and John F. Kennedy.
    Later on Nov. 2 the District 5-District 8 survivor will meet the winner of the District 6-District 7 sectional in Class 3 Quarterfinals.
