A road repaving project for 2013 in St. James is set to begin Monday and should be wrapped up within a week.
The project includes several streets throughout the city limits, and will cost the city just over $140,000.
The bid was awarded to Rolla Asphalt in the amount of $140,862.08.
"These aren’t MoDOT streets. We have a transportation sales tax, and these are covered by that," said City Administrator Jeff Davis. "It's really only going to take about two or three days, but I like to say a week just in case. Apparently they bring in all the equipment and the team and it doesn't take them long to knock it out."
Streets to be paved include St. Francis, St. Richard, Lyon, Home, Mite Jo, Bourbeuse (from Hardy to Washington), Carson (from Hardy to Washington), Bourbeuse (from Hardy to Washington), Pinto (from Hardy to Washington), North Meramec, Celia and Jackson (from Washington to Scioto).
Residents should plan ahead to avoid construction during working hours.
