No. 2 Bulldogs improve to 19-2 overall, 6-1 in OC.
The Rolla High School boys' soccer team improved its record to 19-2 overall and 6-1 in the Ozark Conference by shutting out the Camdenton Lakers 3-0 Tuesday.
Senior Gage Scurlock recorded his 11th shutout of the season for the Bulldogs, ranked No. 2 in the Missouri Class 2 state poll.
Senior Aaron Froehlich netted two goals and Senior Austin Parks had one for Rolla. Senior Logan Houf, senior Nate Kramme and Parks had assists.
The Bulldogs brace for another stern league test tonight, traveling to Springfield to take on Kickapoo (5 p.m.).
"I thought we played well and created some great chances," said RHS head coach Mike Howard. "We struggled to finish, but it is a 3-0 win on the road in the Ozark Conference. (Today) will be one of our tougher matches of the season. Kickapoo has a strong tradition and typically we have had a hard time getting a favorable result there."
Rolla also won the junior varsity game on Tuesday 2-1 to improve to 9-2-1. Freshmen Steven Stutts and Jake Gillespie each scored goals for the jayvee Bulldogs while sophomore Austin Rabenau and freshman Earl Medrano had assists.
