  • The Miner League Theatre Players at Missouri University of Science and Technology will present a three-day run of the comedy “Vanities” next month.
Performances will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, and Saturday, Nov. 9, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, in the Black Box Theatre in Room 143 Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla.
“Vanities” is rated R for adult dialogue.
Tickets for the performances go on sale Friday, Nov. 1. Tickets for all performances are $5 and can be reserved by emailing smorgan@mst.edu or in person at the Missouri S&T performing arts office in Room 127 Castleman Hall. Seating is limited.
“Vanities” follows the comedic story of three Texas cheerleaders. These sorority sisters are defined by the various choices they make throughout the 1960s and 1970s.
“People will love the trip down memory lane through this play,” says Jeanne Stanley, assistant professor of theater at S&T and the director of this production. “The lives and expectations of women became scrambled in the midst of the women’s liberation movement.”
The play will star three S&T students: Megan Skyrme, a sophomore in mechanical engineering from Kansas City, Mo., as Joanne; Emily Paddick, a senior in engineering management from Taswell, Ind., as Mary; and Alyssa Bennett, a freshman in aerospace engineering from Imperial as Kathy.
