Lady Bulldogs fall to Blair Oaks in finals.

The Rolla High School volleyball team finished second in the Eldon Tournament on Saturday.

The Lady Bulldogs defeated host Eldon 25-17, 25-11; topped Versailles 25-15, 25-14; got past Southern Boone 25-11, 25-23 and in the semifinals swept past Dixon 25-17, 25-17 to reach the finals.

In the title match Rolla lost to Blair Oaks 14-25, 25-15, 25-19.

"We had a really good day overall and played a very good Blair Oaks team in the finals," said RHS head coach Julie Carver. "We played great the first game by serving tough and keeping them out of their offense and passing really well so that we could control the game. Then the second and third games we got outserved and outpassed. We can't let down in a championship match against a team like that and expect to win. Overall a good day going 5-1."

The Lady Bulldogs are slated to play at Springfield against Glendale on Tuesday, with the freshman match starting at 4:30 p.m. followed by jayvee and varsity action.
