Law enforcement officials are searching for a driver of a vehicle who fled a crash scene in Dent County, leaving behind a passenger with minor injuries.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, troopers and the Dent County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a crash that took place around 4:55 a.m. Wednesday on Highway C, two miles west of Highway 72, northwest of Salem.
According to the patrol, a 2003 Volkswagen Beetle was traveling west when it went off the right side of the road, traveled through a ditch and struck an embankment.
The patrol report stated that the driver fled the crash scene and has not been identified.
The report listed a passenger in the vehicle, Kelsey N. Scott, 19, of Rolla, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Salem Memorial District Hospital by an ambulance.
Sgt. Dan Crain, highway patrol public information officer, said early Friday afternoon that the driver still had not been located.
