The 35th annual Arts & Crafts Festival, hosted by the Rolla Downtown Business Association (RDBA), will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, in downtown Rolla.
"We have some amazingly talented artisans who bring their handcrafted items to our event," said RDBA Arts & Crafts Coordinator Dawn Smith. "We welcome anyone who has homemade or handcrafted items to sell. This is a great way to offset income while being creative."
The weekend that the festival falls on is planned each year to coincide with the Missouri University of Science and technology homecoming weekend. Many of the S&T alumni make the Arts & Crafts Festival a regular stop on their Rolla visit.
Craft vendors may reserve a 10-foot by 20-foot booth space for $45. Those who need electric need to pay $10 extra. Reservations have been underway for a few months.
Currently, there are about 45 vendors planning to attend and there is room for more.
Pine Street will be closed to through traffic and Ninth Street between Rolla City Hall and Pine Street also will be closed for the food court.
"We encourage woodcrafts, needlework, holiday creations, homemade jams, jellies and candles," said Smith. "This is a perfect time to buy those one of a kind Christmas gifts, holiday home decor and homemade delicacies."
