After dropping the first game, the Rolla High School volleyball team regrouped to take the final two games and defeat Ozark Conference foe West Plains 16-25, 25-22, 25-15 Thursday at the RHS gym.
The Lady Bulldogs improve to 12-9.
Junior Aarika Froehlich had 11 kills and four blocks for the Lady Bulldogs while junior Kelsi James had 18 assists, nine digs and two blocks; senior Emily Dodge four blocks and eight kills; senior Gabe Otte had three kills and five digs, and junior
Jessi Kaczmarek had seven digs.
"We came out in the first game and played sloppy, didn't serve tough and didn't pass well," said RHS head coach Julie Carver. "They controlled the whole game and we didn't respond. The second game was a slow start but we finally started serving tougher, which kept them from running their offense and we started passing better.
"Overall, it was a good win for us, to lose the first game and battle back and get the last two games for the home victory."
The Rolla junior varsity game is to compete in the Waynesville JV Tournament on Saturday. The Lady Bulldog varsity squad plays again Monday at Owensville (5:30 p.m.).
