Kenneth Lee Parker, of Rolla, was born on January 28, 1948 in Cabool, MO and passed away after a long illness on September 30, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gwen of 46 years; two daughters, Kim and Kenny Jordan of Edgar Springs and Tina and Duane Simmons of Rolla; one son Andy and Julie Parker of Rolla; Gwen’s younger sister, Rhonda and Dean Gately of Edgar Springs; his grandkids, Kaley and J.D. Nash, Kaitlyn Jordan, Brooke Stevenson, Joel and Conner Simmons, Nathan and Tyler Parker; and his dog, CoCo.
Kenneth and Gwen were married on July 8, 1967 and have three children.  They spent most of their married life here in Rolla.  He was the manager of the Wilbert Vault Co. for 33 years until early retirement due to his illness.
Kenneth’s life revolved around his family.  He was a loving, devoted husband, dad and Papa.
He loved his family so much-a big heart, spreading smiles and laughter everywhere he went.
His grandkids were his life.  He loved each and every one so very much.
He was even known as “Papa” at Newburg School.  He spread a lot of smiles, gave a lot of hugs to a lot of kids.
He will be missed greatly and never forgotten.  His quote for his grandkids before every sporting event was “I’m a winner, not a loser.  Love ya!” He is the winner now, rejoicing in heaven, free of pain.
A funeral service for Kenneth Parker will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla.  Interment will follow in the Roach Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2 at the funeral home.
