Set to host Rolla Invitational on Saturday.

The Rolla High School volleyball team dropped a tough road match to Jefferson City Helias 26-24, 25-12 on Tuesday.

Junior Jessi Kaczmarek had 28 digs for the Lady Bulldogs while junior Aarika Froehlich had two aces, six kills, four blocks and eight digs; junior Kelsi James had six assists and five digs, and junior Sofie Luna and sophomore Vasilisa Shamina each had 17 digs.

"We played pretty tough the first game; just couldn't finish it," said RHS head coach Julie Carver. "Helias is a very powerful, attacking team that we managed to keep off-balance during the first game.

"The second game we came out and gave up a big run to begin the game and never recovered."

Helias also won the junior varsity match in two games, 25-8, 25-13.

Rolla Invitational
The Rolla High School volleyball team will host the 17th annual Rolla Invitational Saturday at the RHS gym.

In the Maroon Division are Rolla, Houston, Mexico and Summersville and in the Silver Division are Licking, Osage Waynesville and West Plains.

Action begins at 9 a.m.

Rolla is to play Summersville at 10 a.m., Mexico at 11:30 a.m. and Houston at 1 p.m. in pool play.
