Set to host Rolla Tournament Friday and Saturday.

Continuing its torrid pace, the Rolla High School boys' soccer team shut out West Plains 5-0 in Ozark Conference action Tuesday.

Rolla, ranked No. 3 in the Missouri Class 2 state poll, improves to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

Senior forward Aaron Froehlich and junior back Theron Weeks each scored two goals for the Bulldogs while senior midfielder Austin Parks scored one.

Senior forward Hunter Short had two assists while senior midfielder Aiden Gelles, junior back Jordan Kaden and Parks each had one.
Senior Gage Scurlock recorded the shutout.

Rolla also won the junior varsity game 5-1.

Jacob Gillespie had three goals and Stewart Meusch two for the Rolla jayvee squad, now 4-2-1. Assists came from Sean Young, Garrett Fels, Austin Rabenau and Steven Stutts.

The Bulldogs will host the 21st annual Rolla Soccer Tournament Friday and Saturday on Kiwanis Field and Lions Memorial Field at RHS.

Teams involved in the event are Rolla, Columbia Battle, Southern Boone and Ozark.

Both Rolla and Southern Boone (No. 1 in Class 1) are state-ranked. Battle, a new school which began classes for the first time this fall, is a district opponent of Rolla's this season.

4 p.m.: Rolla vs. Battle at Kiwanis Field
5:45 p.m.: Southern Boone vs. Ozark at Kiwanis Field

9 a.m.: Rolla vs. Ozark at Lions Memorial Field
9 a.m.: Southern Boone vs. Battle at Kiwanis Field
Noon: Ozark vs. Battle at Kiwanis Field
Noon: Rolla vs. Southern Boone at Lions Memorial Field

"We play some good teams this weekend in our tournament," said RHS head coach Mike Howard. "Southern Boone is currently ranked No. 1 in the state in the class below us and it is always a tough match for us. Battle is in our district this year and I look forward to seeing what they have."
