  • Rolla police are searching for a driver they believe struck a student outside Rolla Middle School Wednesday morning.

  • Rolla police are searching for a driver they believe struck a student outside Rolla Middle School Wednesday morning.
    According to the Rolla Police Department, officers were notified around 7:30 a.m. of a report of a vehicle that had left the scene of an accident near the intersection of Soest Road and Laguile Court near the middle school.
    It was reported that while a 12-year-old boy was crossing the road to go to the middle school, he was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Soest Road.
    The suspect vehicle did not stop after striking the student and left the scene.
    When emergency personnel arrived, they found the victim inside the Rolla Middle School where he was being examined and treated by school officials.
    The victim was later transported by ambulance to the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital at Fort Leonard Wood.
    The student was later treated and released with a minor abrasion to his knee.
    The suspect vehicle is described as a black four-door sedan with chrome wheels.
