Senior Baeleigh Barr had the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the seventh inning for the Rolla High School softball team Monday night, as the Lady Bulldogs reached double figures in victories with a 4-3 Ozark Conference win over Springfield Hillcrest at the RHS Field.
Rolla improves to 10-6 overall and 5-2 in the conference.
In the bottom of the seventh RHS senior Anna Feeler singled and RHS had runners at first and second base with one out. Sophomore Skylar Turner came in as a courtesy runner.
Barr then smacked a single, plating Turner for the game-winner.
Senior Jade DeShurley was the starting and winning pitcher, going seven innings and allowing one earned run on eight hits and three walks while fanning seven.
Senior Sydney Wells was 3-for-4 with a run scored, two stolen bases and an RBI for Rolla.
Also for the Lady Bulldogs senior Brooke Maxwell was 3-for-3 with a stolen base and RBI; Feeler was 2-for-4 with a double, run and RBI; DeShurley was 2-for-3 with a double and run; Barr was 2-for-4 with an RBI; sophomore Taylor Hance was 2-for-3, and senior Maegan Ray had a triple and run scored.
Rolla also won the junior varsity game 9-1. Turner was the starting and winning pitcher in the jayvee game.
For the Rolla jayvee squad Turner had two hits and scored twice; Ryann Rigsby had two hits and scored twice; Kameron Jordan scored two runs; Becca Roark, Chayce Ayars and Alcina Reese each scored a run, and Courtney Spencer and Jaedyn Weimer each walked.
The Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to host Lebanon in league play Thursday, starting at 4:30 p.m. at the RHS Field.
