  • The fall 2013 enrollment at Missouri University of Science and Technology, officially recorded at the end of the semester's fourth week, is 8,130 students.
This is the highest enrollment in the university's history, up 6.3 percent from the official fall 2012 figure, said Deanne Jackson, Missouri S&T registrar.
"At a time when many universities throughout the nation and our state have seen declining enrollment, we have bucked the trend," said Missouri S&T Chancellor Cheryl B. Schrader. "We are breaking records in many key areas, including in the number of female and minority students."
The number of female students enrolled this fall has increased by 6.2 percent over fall 2012 numbers, from 1,732 to an all-time high of 1,839.
The number of minority students has increased by 9.6 percent over last fall, from 804 to 881, also an all-time high.
Fall classes at Missouri S&T began Aug. 19. The fourth week of the semester ended Monday, Sept. 16.
