On Tuesday, Sept. 3, officers were dispatched to the Dollar General located in the 300 block of Eisenhower Street for a reported stealing that had taken place on Aug. 24.
During the investigation, it was discovered that three individuals had stolen approximately $1,500 to $2,000 worth of merchandise.
After speaking with the manager and gathering information from the surveillance videos, officers developed suspect information regarding the stealing.
One of the suspects, Donna L. Summers, 38, was contacted and interviewed along with Amanda L. Woodson, 28, and as a result of those interviews and other evidence that was developed, they were arrested and more than 150 items suspected of being stolen were recovered with an approximate value of $850.
Summers and Woodson were arrested and incarcerated in the Phelps County Jail on Sept. 3. An arrest warrant was issued charging both Summers and Woodson with class C felony stealing. Their bond was set at $25,000 each.
The Doolittle Police Department is continuing to investigate other suspects involved in the incident and the department expects more charges to be filed.
