A problem with an Intercounty Electric Cooperative Association substation caused an outage that affected approximately 1,200 members Monday afternoon.
Karen McNew, of Intercounty Electric, said she was unsure of the exact problem at the Rolla West substation.
The outage, which affected homes and businesses northwest of Rolla, lasted for about 4.5 hours, McNew said.
The outage was first reported shortly before noon and power was restored around 4:30 p.m.
McNew said a different issue on a line from the Rolla East substation caused an outage that affected about 49 people.
That outage was reported around 4:30 p.m. Intercounty crews were working Monday afternoon to restore power to those members.
