Missouri S&T's men's cross country team opened its 2013 season Friday with a second place finish at the Bradley Intercollegiate meet and two individual finishers among the top 10 overall.
S&T got a third place finish from Brad Chronister to pace its efforts, as he completed the four-mile course in a time of 20:21. Danny Deposki also finished in the top 10 by placing eighth in 20:45; the top two Miner runners were the only competitors outside of runners from meet winner Lewis University to finish among the top 10 on an individual basis.
The Miners' next five runners all crossed the finish line in order, beginning with Travis Connelly in 14th place in a time of 21:10.
Chris Marchman was 15th in 21:14, while Garrett Wood came in 16th in 21:24, Nathan Boys in 17th in 21:29 and Justin Brown in 18th place in 21:33.
Missouri S&T finished with a total of 47 point to easily finish in second place among the 10 schools competing in the college division portion of the race. Lewis ended up with 18 points as Chronister broke up the possibility of a perfect score for the Flyers with his third place showing.
