  • Fort Leonard Wood officials have identified the soldier who found unresponsive Aug. 29 in a barrack’s bathroom on post as Sgt. 1st Class Nathan Dolson Jr., 49, of Niagara Falls, N.Y.

  • Fort Leonard Wood officials have identified the soldier who found unresponsive Aug. 29 in a barrack’s bathroom on post as Sgt. 1st Class Nathan Dolson Jr., 49, of Niagara Falls, N.Y.
    Dolson entered the military in November of 1983. He was a drill sergeant assigned to Company C, 31st Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood, since August of 2013.
    Dolson received several awards and decorations, including the Army Achievement Medal (four), Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (seven) and the National Defense Service Medal.
    Dolson was found at about 6:24 a.m., Aug. 29. Emergency personnel transported Dolson by ambulance to the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 7:26 a.m. by Capt. Evan Cameron, hospital medical doctor.
    Circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under investigation.
