Lady Bulldogs improve to 3-0; Feeler homers.
The Rolla High School softball team improved is record to 3-0 by beating St. James 7-4 Friday at the RHS Softball Field.
The Lady Bulldogs outhit the Lady Tigers 10-4. Senior Anna Feeler led the charge for RHS, going 3-for-3 with a homer and four RBI while senior Maegan Ray was 3-for-4 with a double, stolen base, RBI and two runs scored.
Also for RHS Kaitlyn Settles had a double, single and run for the Lady Bulldogs while Jade DeShurley had a hit and run; Taylor Hance had a hit and RBI, and Kayla Reed and Sydney Wells each scored.
DeShurley was the starting and winning pitcher, allowing one earned run on four hits, seven walks and struck out eight.
In a shortened three-inning junior varsity game Rolla won 4-3. Skylar Turner was the winning pitcher for the jayvee Lady Bulldogs. Meredith Sowers had a hit and scored twice for the Rolla jayvee team while Kameron Jordan had a double and RBI, and Mackenzie Masters and Ryann Rigsby both scored.
On Tuesday (Sept. 3) the Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to host Pleasant Hope at 4:30 p.m. at the RHS Field while the Lady Tigers are to host Linn at 4:30 p.m. at Nelson Hart Park.
