Brian Eldred Bennett, Sr. passed peacefully from this life on the morning of Monday, August 12, 2013 in St. Louis, MO. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Brian was born on November 17, 1958 in Belize City, Belize to the late Hazel (Milton) Bennett and the late Hubert Eldred Bennett becoming the last child of this union. He attended St. John's College in Belize before moving to the United States, where he attended college at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
In 1980, he married the love of his life, Earlene (Franklin) Bennett and joined the military where he proudly served for over 20 years.
Brian was blessed with 2 wonderful children: in 1982, Brian Eldred Bennett, Jr. and in 1986, Ashanti Camela (Bennett) Jones.
Brian loved and enjoyed his family, his children and his grandchildren. He excelled at all of his endeavors because he honestly and whole heartedly cared for people. His second home was the Soldier Readiness Program (SRP). He has a host of sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law that could always depend on him.
Brian leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife, Earlene Bennett; a son, Brian Bennett, Jr. and wife Kristin ( Wilson) Bennett; a daughter, Ashanti Jones and husband Brent Jones; grandchildren, Jacob Sheets; Keira and Braxton Jones; a sister, Lorna Bennett; a brother, Egbert Bennett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Georgia Bennett, Sonia Bennett and Joan Gill; and a brother, Dennis Bennett.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rolla. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Ft. Leonard Wood Veteran's Cemetery at 1 p.m. A
visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Patrick Church Building Fund.
