  • Former St. James High School all-state wide receiver Justin Lineback will not be playing football for Missouri S&t this coming fall.
Lineback, who red-shirted for the Miners during the 2012 season, had a strong 2013 spring season, according to first-year S&T football head coach Tyler Fenwick, and was expected to compete for a spot in the Miner receiving rotation this fall.
However, last week Lineback told team officials instead of returning to school he was planning to join the military.
During the 2011 campaign Lineback caught 72 passes for 1,345 yards and 16 touchdowns for the St. James Tigers, earning all-state honors.
