Five new players added to roster for 2013 season.

Missouri S&T head men's soccer coach Gabe Hall has announced the addition of five players to the Miner roster for the upcoming 2013 season.

The list of newcomers - three defenders, two attacking players and a goalkeeper - includes two transfers to the program.

The newest additions to the roster are:

EDUARDO PUERTA, a 5-10, 150-pound midfielder from Valladoid, Spain: Puerta comes to the Miner program after playing at AD Victoria, where his teams were among the best in the Juventil League over the past three seasons. He is a player with playmaking ability that is expected to help drive the team's offense in the upcoming year. He is planning to major in engineering at Missouri S&T.

MASON FANNIN, a 5-11, 155-pound goalkeeper from Park Hill High School in Kansas City, Mo.: Fannin will join the Miners' deep corps of goalkeepers in the program. He has been the starter for Futura Academy, which has competed in the regional championship in each of the last two years, while earning all-district honors at the high school level. Fannin plans to major in engineering at Missouri S&T.

NEIL WIARANOWSKI, a 5-11, 160-pound back-midfielder from Naperville North High School in Naperville, Ill.: Wiaranowski played for Galaxy in the Chicago area at the club level and is expected to compete for playing time anywhere along the back line or at a midfield position. The Galaxy team he played for won the USYSA national championship as U-17's in 2012 and competed again at the USYSA national tournament at the U-18 level this summer. During his 2012 high school season, he scored three goals and added an assist last season to earn all-district honors and was a unanimous first-team all-conference selection. Wiaranowski is planning to major in engineering at Missouri S&T.

JOE AUBUCHON, a 5-9, 160-pound midfielder from Crowder College in Neosho, Mo.: Aubuchon, a midfielder, is transferring to S&T from Crowder College and is expected to compete for playing time at a midfield spot. Aubuchon scored seven times and added 12 assists during his senior year at Glendale High School, where he earned all-conference and all-region honors. He also played for Springfield Soccer Club where he was teammates with current Miner Taylor Arens (Springfield, Mo./Catholic HS). Aubuchon will major in engineering at Missouri S&T.

HENNING SCHONE, a 6-1, 175-pound midfielder-back from Duisberg, Germany: Schone played for Duisburg's amateur side and is a versatile player who is expected to play at either the midfield or back positions. He is transferring to Missouri S&T from the University of Duisberg-Essen and plans to major in engineering management at Missouri S&T. He will have three years of eligibility at S&T.

"These five players, along with the four signed previously, will give us a good foundation to build on for the coming year and the future," Hall said. "Our team did lose a lot of quality players from last year's squad, but we feel that our incoming group will mesh well with the players we have coming back to make us a very competitive team in the GLVC."

The Miners will begin practice for the upcoming season on August 14 and will play three exhibition contests before their Sept. 7 season opener against Southwest Baptist.
