  • The chancellor of Missouri University of Science and Technology will help in the search for a new chancellor at the University of Missouri-Columbia campus.
Missouri S&T Chancellor Cheryl B. Schrader has been appointed to a committee to spearhead the search for a new chancellor of the University of Missouri in Columbia, to replace retiring Chancellor Brady Deaton, of the Columbia campus.
The 18-person committee, which will be co-chaired by Ann Covington, UM system curator, and Dean Mills, dean of the School of Journalism at MU, includes a diverse representation of faculty, staff, alumni, students, retirees and donors.
“We are committed to conducting a search for the next MU chancellor that is broad and inclusive, that involves taking input from the entire campus community,” UM system President Tim Wolfe said.
“That commitment extends to the members of our search committee, which includes a curator, chancellor, two deans, numerous professors, representatives from alumni, undergraduate and graduate student groups, Extension and MU Heath System,” Wolfe said.
“By empowering such a diverse committee of Missourians who share a passion for the university to help identify the very best candidates, we will ensure that we will achieve excellence in the next MU chancellor,” he added.
