After entering final round tied for 18th, Rolla golfer drops with 83-80.
Rolla golfer Michael Steelman shot 19-over-par over the final 36 holes of play Wednesday and finished 50th overall in the 2013 Missouri Stroke Play Championship at Meadowbrook Golf & Country Club.
The tournament was sanctioned by the Missouri Golf Association (MGA).
Steelman, who last month advanced to the first round of match play in the Missouri Amateur, tied for 18th overall after the first two rounds, as his 76-75-151 survived the cutdown for Wednesday's final round.
However, on Wednesday Steelman struggled, shooting 83-80-163.
Steelman has committed to play golf at Columbia College. A 2013 graduate, Steelman was a two-time Missouri Class 4 State Tournament qualifier for Rolla High School.
Wildwood's Skip Berkmeyer was the easy winner of the event, shooting 70-71 on Wednesday to finish eight-under-par for 72 holes.
