  • The Mizzou football team's preseason depth chart, which was released during the Southeastern Conference Media Days event on Tuesday, has a definite Rolla-area flavor to it.
Two players on the Tiger roster have ties to Rolla, with a couple of other key performers coming from the Ozark Conference.
No. 1 on the Tiger quarterback list is James Franklin (6-2, 230).
Franklin is trying to fight off stiff competition from red-shirt freshman Maty Mauk and sophomore Corbin Berkstresser as a senior this season.
Although he never played football at Rolla High School, Franklin spent several of his grade school and middle school years here, playing football in the Rolla Youth Football League before his family moved to Texas when he was in the seventh-grade.
Also on the depth chart at the H-wide receiver position is former Rolla High standout Gavin Otte.
Otte (5-11, 200) is a junior who is also expected to play a key role on special teams for the Tigers.
A 2010 RHS graduate, Otte was a all-conference/all-district receiver-defensive back for the 10-2 Bulldog squad his senior season of 2009.
Otte then played football at NCAA Division II Central Missouri University before transferring to Mizzou.
Dorial Green-Beckham (6-6, 220), the former Springfield Hillcrest flash who set the national all-time record for receptions and receiving yards, is listed No. 2 on the Tiger depth chart at the X-wide receiver position, behind Marcus Lucas.
Green-Beckham, a sophomore who was the nation's No. 1 recruit coming out of high school, was also listed behind Lucas after the spring practice drills but once the season begins is expected to be one of the Tigers' main receiving threats. Green-Beckham was one of 75 players nationwide selected to the 2013 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List.
Former Lebanon High School all-state offensive lineman Justin Britt (6-6, 320) is listed as Mizzou's starting left tackle. Britt, now a Tiger senior, is a three-year starter for Mizzou who battled injury issues last season.
Here is the Tigers' preseason depth chart:
