  • The 16th annual Rolla High School Athletic Booster Club Golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, July 8, at Oak Meadow Country Club. The event will be a four-person scramble. Check-in and lunch begins at 11 a.m., with the tournament beginning at noon with a shot gun start. The awards presentation is slated for 5 p.m. Cost is $100 per golfer, which includes 18 holes of golf, lunch and prizes. In addition there will be individual hole contests and door prizes.     Trinity Episcopal Church in St. James will host "Walking with Jesus" Bible School July 8-12 from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The church is located at 120 E. Scioto St. in St. James.     The Republican Women of Phelps County will have state Sen. Dan Brown as the speaker at the group's July 8 meeting, which starts at 11:30 a.m. at Penelope's Restaurant on Kingshighway in Rolla. Brow will give an update on legislativ issues in Jefferson City and other issues that affect the 16th District, which he represents. No reservations are necessary.     Musikgarten presented by Musikgarten with Mary for infants to students in prekindergarten will take place Monday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at the Rolla Public Library, as part of its summer reading program. Instrumental activities are part of the program.
    Animals Underground! presented by Animal Tales, an activity of the Rolla Public Library's summer reading program will take place Monday, July 8, at 3:30 p.m. This activity provides a fun and educational, interactive and safe learning experience that features five live animals from across the globe. Participants will be asked to interact with the animals through a question-and-answer time, audience participation and "hands on" volunteering.
    A child/parent book discussion group at the Rolla Public Library for grades four through six will be held Monday, July 8, at 6 p.m. Register to join the July summer reading session at the library.
