The United Way of South Central Missouri has joined forces with Sinks/Medley Pharmacy to expand a free children’s vitamin program.
Amy Mitchell, vice president of Sinks/Medley, approached Stoney Byrne, president of the United Way of South Central Missouri, about expanding the program with United Way clients, where the need would be the greatest.
Byrne embraced the idea as a win-win for everyone involved and obtained enthusiastic approval by his United Way Board, saying, “This kind of generous community support from local business is what multiplies the benefits we can achieve with United Way donations.”
Byrne said he is proud to support the pharmacies with the program.
The free children’s vitamin program provides a free and continually renewable 30-day supply of chewable children’s multivitamins to any parent who registers for the program in any Sinks or Medley pharmacies with no purchase required.
In 2008, Sinks/Medley Pharmacy initiated the program to give back to communities.
Dr. Sandra K. Mitchell, president and owner of Sinks/Medley Pharmacy, said, “When we heard of this program being done in Ohio, we immediately wanted to provide free vitamins to the children in our communities who might otherwise not receive this essential health benefit.”
Sinks Pharmacy has locations in Rolla, Vienna, Belle and Iberia, with a new store coming soon to St. Clair. Medley Pharmacy has locations in Owensville and Gerald.
